Lightning talk: A/B Street: An urban digital twin using OpenStreetMap
Speaker: Dustin Carlino, A/B Street

A/B Street is an open source agent-based traffic simulator and digital twin platform that runs anywhere in the world with OpenStreetMap. The platform includes tools dedicated to analyzing 15-minute neighborhoods, designing low-traffic neighborhoods, and planning bicycle networks. This talk will survey the tools built so far, ongoing work, and how researchers may integrate with the platform through JSON APIs and various file formats for travel demand models and traffic signal timing.

The urban analytics programme is pleased to host its first hybrid event. The event will be the programmes first in-person at scale event since October 2019.

About the event

The event will be split over two days, with a different focus for each. Day one will feature talks and networking sessions, offering the opportunity to catch up on recent research from across the community, and hear the latest thoughts of some leading thinkers in the field. There will be two keynote talks from Vanessa Lawrence and Seth Spielman.

Day two will see a series of breakout sessions, with participants working on a vision of the future of urban analytics – or ‘urban analytics 2.0’ – in light of recent developments such as the government’s National AI Strategy and the Turing’s move towards ‘Turing 2.0’.

Participation is welcomed from all members of the Turing’s urban analytics community, on either or both days of the event.
