Lightning talk: Gender differences and inequalities in urban mobility
Speaker: Ronaldo Menezes, University of Exeter
In this talk we’ll discuss talk about the differences in mobility patterns in urban environments from the point of view of gender. We demonstrate that such differences leads to different opportunities in cities which may be linked to inequalities.
The urban analytics programme is pleased to host its first hybrid event. The event will be the programmes first in-person at scale event since October 2019.
About the event
The event will be split over two days, with a different focus for each. Day one will feature talks and networking sessions, offering the opportunity to catch up on recent research from across the community, and hear the latest thoughts of some leading thinkers in the field. There will be two keynote talks from Vanessa Lawrence and Seth Spielman.
Day two will see a series of breakout sessions, with participants working on a vision of the future of urban analytics – or ‘urban analytics 2.0’ – in light of recent developments such as the government’s National AI Strategy and the Turing’s move towards ‘Turing 2.0’.
Participation is welcomed from all members of the Turing’s urban analytics community, on either or both days of the event.
