Kathy Evans, Chief Executive of Children England provides her remarks and comments on the report Ethics of Machine Learning in children’s social care, produced by The Alan Turing Institute and the Rees Centre, University of Oxford for What Works for Children’s Social Care. Kathy accents on the need to think about the legality of using machine learning and data science and on the gaps that exist currently with regard to considering how privacy rights of families square against the use of data-intrusive tools by public authorities.
