About the event
Over the past twenty years open source has become the default software development paradigm for the industry and academia. Whether it’s for Artificial Intelligence, Analytics, Cloud Computing or Internet of Things, open source projects and products have come to dominate the developer ecosystem, conferences, workshops and form the basis of many successful companies such as Amazon, Facebook and Google. However, not every open source project is successful and closed source software and companies continue to thrive. In this presentation we will examine what it takes to make a thriving open source project and community, considering some real world examples. We’ll also look at the benefits of open source versus closed source.
