David D. Clark has been a key figure in shaping the Internet since the mid-70s. He served as Chief Protocol Architect from 1981 to 1989 and chaired the Internet Activities Board. His research centers on redefining the Internet’s architecture, considering technology, economics, society, and policy. Clark is an advocate for Internet security, data management, and addressing malicious online uses. He chaired the Computer Science and Telecommunications Board of the National Academies and is a Fellow of the National Academy of Engineering and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. His affiliation with CSAIL reflects his ongoing commitment to advancing the field.
