Mike Cafarella is a Principal Research Scientist at MIT’s Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab (CSAIL). His research spans database systems, information extraction, knowledge graphs, data systems for causal reasoning, and the application of data-intensive methods to economics. He has a notable publication record in conferences like SIGMOD and VLDB. Dr. Cafarella earned his Ph.D. from the University of Washington, Seattle, in 2009, working under the guidance of advisors Oren Etzioni and Dan Suciu. Prior to joining MIT, he served as a professor of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Michigan from 2009 to 2020.
