Argonne National Laboratory’s Arvind Ramanathan joins us to share research on genome-scale language modelling using the Cerebras Wafer-Scale Cluster. This research won the 2022 ACM Gordon Bell Special Prize for HPC-Based COVID-19 Research.

Arvind describes the challenges with identifying variants of concerns with SARS-CoV-2, how they adapted large language models to these genomes, how they leveraged Cerebras systems to conduct their research, and their findings.

We also discussed our recently-announced, cloud-based, fine-tuning service. If you’re interested in fine-tuning your large language models on our systems, learn more about the Cerebras AI Model Studio and sign up for a free trial here: https://www.cerebras.net/product-cloud/
