Abstract
In this “big data” era we live in, corporations are eager to apply the latest and greatest Artificial Intelligence (AI) capabilities to optimize processes, increase employee productivity, and of course improve the bottom line. Although the history of AI can be traced back to at least the first half of the 20th century, misperceptions of AI’s definition, power, and potential abound.
This presentation will discuss the high-level differences between AI, Machine Learning (ML), and Deep Learning (DL), as well as some growing ethical concerns with AI (e.g., liability, employment, systemic/human biases, etc.). Additionally, restaurant industry examples of AI applications will be shared to show how AI is adding efficiency and driving significant change!
